Description: The Senior Technician provides advanced technical support for one or more project teams concurrently within a single technical discipline. Specifically, they provide design and testing support to MIP New Product Development. The successful candidate will be able to work comfortably in both the electrical and mechanical disciplines. These strengths need not be equal, but must have basic abilities with room for quick development.
Primary Responsibilities: 1. Testing of materials and designs using both new and established test methods. 2. Uses and creates computerized data acquisition and signal processing applications (ex. LabVIEW). 3. Easily understands and writes technical test documentation, such as procedures and reports. 4. Build, troubleshoot and repair both digital and analog circuits, and use basic electrical test and analysis equipment. 5. Proficient in the application of a broad set of analytical and technical tools within a single MEDRAD technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, QA, V&V, etc.). 6. Develop the technical skills and knowledge to function in a second technical discipline. 7. Proactively seeks assignments and works to identify breadth of tasks. May take lead role in selected technical activities. 8. Proficient with the analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical problems within primary technical discipline. 9. Handles multiple concurrent projects, understands priorities of assigned tasks and plan daily activities accordingly. Develops creative solutions to challenging problems.
Technical / Behavioral Requirements: 1. Good mechanical aptitude and basic machining skills. 2. Desire electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and CSA testing experience. 3. Ability to use structured programming languages for data acquisition. 4. 5 - 9 years overall experience 5. Associates Degree 6. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical problems within single technical discipline. 7. Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects, understand priorities of assigned tasks and plan daily activities accordingly. 8. Proven ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems. 9. Strong competency in Customer Focus, Driving for Results, Integrity and Trust, Ethics and Values and Compassion. 10. Proven ability to demonstrate at minimum, MEDRAD's Team Contributor competencies: Action Oriented, Perseverance, Dealing with Ambiguity, Learning on the fly and Problem Solving.
