Job Description: L-3 GS&ES is looking to fill open Senior Technician positions supporting security systems projects for the Department of Defense in multiple countries in Southwest Asia (SWA). The Senior Technician will be part of a support team traveling to sites as required. The Technician will be responsible for supporting the siting, systems design, installation and training on a wide range of tactical and permanent systems supporting ground-based security sensors and systems. Included are systems such as: . Access control . CCTV . Infrared sensors . Fiber optic cable and fiber optic lines of detection . Ground-based radars . Thermal imaging systems . Solar, wind and fossil fueled generators . RF Links and Communications, including Microwave . The Tactical Automated Security System (TASS) suite of sensors . Command Control and Display Equipment (CCDE) including the TASS Annunciator. The Technician shall support the installation, inspection, adjustments, reconfiguration, and introduction of new or advanced technology, update, testing, and the related technical support for these systems by providing on-site technical assistance. The Technician will be stationed in the SWA area of operations (AOR) and will travel within the AOR, including to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc. This position requires a 1-year commitment.
Job Duties: Include but not limited to the installation, upgrade of and disassembly and reconfiguration of systems, operator and maintenance training, service, repair and maintenance of electronic and mechanical security systems. These duties require but are not limited to manual labor, the lifting of heavy equipment items unaided, digging, laying cable, power generation, fiber splicing, and working long hours in harsh environmental conditions.
Duties include (but are not limited to): . Work closely with the site's AT/FP personnel on all security systems issues. . Provide technical expertise for security systems installed equipment upgrades and reconfigurations at designated bases in Southwest Asia. Currently systems in Southwest Asia include: eTASS, CCTV systems, Wide Surveillance Thermal Imager, Long Range Thermal Imager, Ground-based Radars (MSTAR) and security systems . Support security site surveys as required by AFCENT. Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ten years experience with electronic systems installation or physical security systems, and recent experience in the SWA AOR. Candidates should have a strong background in installation of intrusion detection system and recent experience with electronic security systems, access control, or CCTV. Subject Matter Expertise (SME) required. Service as a former USAF Security Forces member is a plus. Current Secret clearance a plus. Candidates must be US Citizens and have the ability to obtain a final US Secret Clearance. Candidates MUST BE ABLE TO BE DEPLOYED to war zones and willing to make a minimum 6-month commitment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's Degree in a specialty supporting the systems such as Electrical or RF engineering, IT or Networking is a plus. Formal technical training. A successful candidate will have 5 years of technical experience with electronic systems installation. Experience with programs such as C4ISR, PSDS2, RAID, GBOSS, Eagle Eye, CERBERUS, C-RAM, USAF TASS, RDISS, etc) is a plus. Must understand microwave link installation, alignment, troubleshooting and repair and Radio Frequency monitoring control systems. Long range electro optical and infrared system capabilities and applications as well as acoustic and Seismic sensor operations and applications skill desired. Serial data and TCP/IP applications and configurations and video processing, switching, archiving and distribution knowledge and working capabilities desired. Must have related work experience, to include installation, maintenance, and repair of Commercial Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Systems and military tactical power production systems. Must be able to work independently. Recent experience in the SWA AOR. Secret clearance. BISCI credentials a plus.
