Senior Specialist Engineer
Responsibilities
Manages processes, equipment and software needed to operate and optimize module/code group/processes for designated area of responsibility within Assembly. Plans technical aspects of testing/coding/quality systems including hardware/software modifications as required. Manages special
projects as assigned including equipment/structure modifications within areas of responsibility. Plans and manages engineering changes, deviations, process method changes, process sequence changes, etc. to the assembly process. Defines test plan, and/or method for module, system, and process area. Plans, procures, implements and provides technical support for process, equipment, software, hardware and/or process definition. Leads special projects and/or self-initiated projects for continuous improvement, structural planning, and/or other series and new model related planning projects. Monitors and manages responsible areas for quality issues application and driving important activities using quality tasks. Provides specialized technical guidance and support to assigned process area and/or module. Manages the evaluation and implementation of software packages required for production system (t/coding data, upgrades, etc.). Monitors and maintains IT systems utilized and continuous interaction with Plant Spartanburg department. Manages training and process improvement for production utilizing responsible systems and processes area and/or module. Performs analysis on process, quality and/or systems failures not solvable by production areas. Performs process simulations (EM-Plant, 4D Navigator, Pro Planner, ROBCAD, CATIA).Performs other duties as assigned by operations supervisor.
This is a long term contract position with full time hours.
Requirements:
Qualifications
4+ years of technical experience in automotive manufacturing engineering;
or 5+ years of related professional project experience in engineering with MS/ degree in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent of 4 years manufacturing engineering experience.
Advanced = knowledge in assembly processes pertaining to electrical or mechanical automotive systems
Advanced = professional experience and knowledge of vehicle systems (electrical) preferred
Advanced = knowledge of short/long-term project management skills (structure projects, continuous improvements, and process analysis)
Advanced = knowledge of assembly processes pertaining to assigned parts and/or systems by module
Advanced = experience with interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Advanced = proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Intermediate = oral and written German language skills (preferred
Intermediate = proficiency in programming and application knowledge (C++, Basic, SQL, database management, IT systems) (preferred)
Intermediate = experience with the use and application of statistical methods risk filters, FMEAs, SPC, process/machine capability)
