Senior Project Engineer/Polymer Formulations
Foster Corporation, a leading manufacturer of specialty plastics compounds for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, is searching for a Senior Project Engineer.
The primary focus of this position is to lead new product introductions or resolution of problems to existing products or processes according to the Quality Management System.
Responsibilities include:
New Product Development; concept to production release with a customer focus
Sustaining Engineering; support of existing products with a customer focus
Quality Improvements by applying statistical design
Cost Reduction
Candidate will provide engineering leadership on a cross-functional team, including:
Project scheduling and management
Project budget
Team motivation
Presentations to management
Candidate will also act as an individual technical contributor, including product formulation, process engineering and self directed research projects.
Requirements:
Technical and analytical ability important to the success of this position. Familiarity with computers and Microsoft software (word, excel).
Able to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures. Able to use a personal computer and write reports and procedure manuals. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Must be able to perform analysis and problem solving as directed by management. Must be able to work as part of an engineering team on a project basis.
Understanding of basic chemistry and mechanical testing. Knowledge of polymeric chemistry and processing science. Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing and PowerPoint. Experience with statistical product and process design desirable.
Education: MS with 10-15 years in plastics or related field
