Role Summary/Purpose The Nuclear Senior Design Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop design processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, contribute to the overall strategy, and manage complex design / regulatory issues within functional areas area of expertise.
Essential Responsibilities
* Review customer specifications for Design of product or product variations

* In conjunction with corporate product guidelines and as assigned by Engineering Manager, be responsible for design of, and modifications or additions to existing product lines to comply with customer requirements- and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Provide technical information to sales for product support Responsible for data research related to meeting the customer requirements

* Be responsible for review of application / design and technical requirements

* Provide technical support to Materials with Engineering requirements and supplier issues

* Provide technical support to Sales / Marketing / Manufacturing / quality as required

* Assist in the preparation of technical responses, data based analysis and fulfilling project requirements with QME testing

* Project a positive attitude and co-operate fully with co-workers and outside contacts

* Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement Program

* Technical evaluation of supplier products and recommendation of same

* Administer the internal systems and procedures in conformance with the Nuclear Quality Procedures

* Assist in meeting published company goals
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Professional Engineers certification

* Minimum of 6 years of experience in Nuclear Power Industry

* Minimum of 4 years in Nuclear Power Industry Design Engineering
Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics
* Experience with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASM)E Section III - Non-Conformance Assessment (NCA), NB and NC

* Familiarity with ASME Codes (Section I and VIII-1) and Oracle

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and PLM systems
