Senior Methods & Standards Engineer
ThisSenior Methods and Standards Engineer is responsible for interacting with plant management to develop hourly and salary manning business plans and lead actions to achieve plant productivity objectives, including daily, weekly and monthly reports. Interact with production management and union on a daily basis on all matters relating to manning requirements. Support development of direct, indirect and salary model year specific budgets with ME Industrial Engineering. This position reports to the plant Industrial Engineering Manager while supervising plant Industrial Engineers.
Basic Requirements: • Bachelor's degree required- Industrial Engineering
• Four (4) years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Demonstrated experience with time and motion studies, development of standardized work, manpower estimation, and standard data
• Must understand assembly manufacturing systems and demonstrate the ability to apply throughput management process techniques and assess equipment capability
Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree preferred
• MODAPTS and/or other standard data systems certification and knowledge of MTM-UAS and /or TiCon (Time Control) system are highly desirable
• Proficient in all Microsoft Offices applications required
• Capable of preparing documents and presentations for all levels of management, with compressed time constraints
• Demonstrated ability to learn complex systems, such as the Chrysler Automated Manufacturing Planning System (AMPS), and other on and off the shelf software programs
• Experience working in union environment highly desirable
• Previous supervisor experience is preferred, supervision of union personnel a plus
• Data collection, root cause analysis, and practical solving skills are essential.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of traditional lean manufacturing techniques required, knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles is preferred
