Our Advanced Technologies team is looking for a results-oriented Principal Design Engineer with effective technical and communication skills who can work well performing duties at our Los Angeles facility supporting the development of global solutions for total battlespace situational awareness, electronic warfare & countermeasures.

Assignment responsibilities include antenna analysis, modeling, design, development and testing for applications in military and commercial environments, including experience in the analysis and design of agile beam, electronically scanned, passive and active antenna arrays for airborne and ground-based radar and communication applications with particular antenna design focus in the frequency bands of S, X and Ku.
Required Experience: * Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics.

Equivalent applicable experience or directly applicable military technical training will be considered.

* Ability to obtain a Secret Level (or higher) clearance is required.

* Ideally, fifteen or more (15+) years experience in the design and analysis of agile beam (electronically scanned) passive and active arrays (both airborne and ground-based) with a focus on S, X, and Ku-bands including conducting trade studies for performance and cost optimization.

The candidate should possess the following qualifications:

* Detailed knowledge and experience in electromagnetics applied to antenna design
* System performance analysis to include RF chain analysis
* Active ESA experience and knowledge of measurement/calculation of Noise Figure, EIRP, G/T, TOI, beam scan loss and beam pointing accuracy
* Antenna modeling to include generating and analyzing antenna patterns including phase quantization errors and amplitude errors
* Experience in radiator element design including: patch radiators, flared notch radiators, wide-band and multi-band applications
* Experience in active array beam former design including: divider/combiner analysis and design, layout, and testing
* Design familiarity with RF board materials and loss characteristics (i.e. Rogers, etc.)
* Analysis of conventional waveguide fed reflector antennas and analysis
* Knowledge of ESA beam steering principles, beam forming equations and computations

* Knowledge of AESA calibration techniques using a near-field range

In addition, the candidate should have:
* Leadership skills for small team technical, schedule, and budget management
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
* Technical proposal, cost estimation, and new business capture skills
* Support customer and supplier technical meetings, with limited travel
* Serve as a mentor to junior RF/Antenna engineers

Design tool and laboratory experience:
* HFSS, IE3D, Agilent ADS, MatLab, FECO analysis tools
* Allegro, Cadence OrCAD, and AutoCAD layout tools
* Hands-on lab experience with network analyzers, vector analyzers, spectrum analyzers
* Near Field Range antenna measurements, anechoic chamber far field antenna pattern measurements (CW and pulsed)
