12 years of job-related experience, including 3 years on New York City projects.
PE License in the State of New York, or able to obtain within 1 year of hire date.
Thorough working knowledge of the International Mechanical Code, NYC Building Code, NYC Plumbing Code, NYC Fuel Gas Code, NYS Building Code and NJ Building Code.
Solid working knowledge of mechanical engineering/HVAC design principles.
Strong computer skills (AutoCad 2010, Microsoft Office Suite 2003).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Able to handle multiple projects (with multiple clients and deadlines) simultaneously.
Valid Driver's License.
Must obtain negative result on drug screening performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy. Job Description: This position will report directly to the Chief Mechanical Engineer and will interact on a daily basis with electrical, plumbing and fire protection project engineers, as well as the MEP discipline Chief engineers.
Mechanical engineering/HVAC design, including system and equipment selections, preliminary layouts to be drafted in detail by others, specifications preparation, review of cost estimates prepared by others and QA/QC review.
Review progress of work by engineering technicians.
Meet with project engineers and architects internally.
Attend client meetings.
Proposal and presentation interview preparation.
Interact with project managers and project professionals from other departments, as well as with clients, construction managers, architects and engineers from other firms.
