Senior Mechanical EngineerJob Code: 47130 Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer City: CHIPPEWA FALLS State/Province: WI Job Description: As a Senior Mechanical Hardware Engineer you work with a Product Design team delivering computer server based products and platforms. You will participate in all aspects of development to bring innovative new products to market delivering market-leading solutions.
Your work will include conceptualization, design, prototyping, testing, characterization, system analysis, and documentation. Active participation in the identification, prioritization, coordination, and resolution of system level design issues is expected. Close cooperation with manufacturing, marketing, customer assurance, and with various external partners is required.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work and lead in a team environment. Previous knowledge and experience with high performance electronic products and high density thermal management techniques including the infrastructure to deliver the solution is required. Candidate must also have demonstrated excellent leadership, technical depth/breadth, planning, organization, and judgment. System integration will be multi-discipline in nature so a good understanding of product design, electro-mechanical systems, thermal management (air and fluid based), and power delivery systems and controls is beneficial.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of primarily server products focused on industry leading performance, density, energy efficiency, and market driven product requirements.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to: Design and develop product solutions that meet customer expectations. Propose product development plans and gain alignment with partners on specific activities including objectives, schedules, milestones, and key dependencies. Influence and contribute to future product definition, specifications, and technical roadmaps. Identify future trends and drive innovative research and development initiatives across the range of our team's deliverables and current and future partners. Conduct and coordinate long-term efforts to develop advanced tools, processes, and technologies. Support system integration efforts. Propose, define and analyze product performance specifications. Develop test plans, test scripts, and manage testing to validate performance and reliability. Publish results in written reports. Provides mentoring and guidance to less experienced employees.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Completion of at least two product development project cycles, from inception through market release. Direct experience in product design. 8+ years experience in designing electro-mechanical parts, and systems, and products. Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with many levels and functional areas of the organization. Demonstrated abilities in sheet metal, plastics, mechanisms, statics, dynamics, and tolerancing. Candidate must be able to design experiments, analyze analytical and experimental data and use this information to drive design decisions.
Desired Skills / Attributes: Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience in leading complex technical projects across geographies and cultures. Experience directing and providing technical consultation to third parties. Computer programming and/or advanced data analysis Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5M drafting and tolerancing standards Demonstrated creativity and industry contributions through significant patents and/or publications Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation is a plus Experience with Flotherm or equivalent is a plus
