The successful candidate for this position would reside at ourLisle, ILlocation and work as an extension of our Indianapolis based;Advanced Manufacturing Engineeringteam.

ThisSr. Manufacturing Engineerposition will provide manufacturing process expertise to the Navistar Engine Group Purchasing Teams. As a member of the Adv. Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Team, this position plays a key role in supplier evaluation and selection from a manufacturing engineering perspective. The position will provide support to the Purchasing Teams in the following areas:
* Supplier Capability Analysis- Position will evaluate that suppliers selected to participate in bids for a specific component are capable of producing a product which meets Navistar's quality, delivery, and cost targets.
* Supplier Tooling Approval- Position will review Supplier manufacturing and tooling plans and approve Supplier Tooling Requests. Provide recommendations for tooling cost reduction opportunities and improvements.
* Cost Analysis- Position will evaluate Supplier processes and provide support to the Purchasing Teams in component cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
* Supplier Support- Position will provide manufacturing technical support to Suppliers for quality, capacity, product transfers, or product launch concerns.
* Work with Suppliers to provide necessary and appropriate program launch support.
* Identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken.
Position Purpose and Requirements:

The Sr. Manufacturing Technology Development Engineer position will provide expertise in the area of documented procedures, supplier interactions, performance/capability in order to initiate alignment of the manufacturing engineering group with purchasing, supplier quality, and product design, assuring a collaborate and innovative effort for successful supply base management.
Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
* At least 6 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
Additional Requirements:

* Manufacturing/process engineer with hands–on casting & machining experience in many of the following processes: sand casting, perm mold, die cast, investment cast, lost foam; cast product machining experience also desired in milling, drilling, turning, fixture design, leak test.
* Ability to travel up to 25% - both domestic and international.
* Must have experience with QS-9000, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements, & GD&T
* Must have Project Management experience

* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, MS Project.
