Senior Manager of OBD Calibration
The Senior Manager of Powertrain Transmission and Driveability Calibration is responsible for leading a department which develops and releases calibrations for state of the art powertrain systems. Ensure that multiple projects meet their respective timelines while achieving all specified Chrysler group customer fuel economy, driveability and transmission calibration ure that proper plans for resources, timelines and milestones are in place for each project and report the integrated work of the department to the director. Report the status on issues or projects to the Senior Leadership position will require the candidate to work across many disciplines to ensure that the project plans are successful with regards to resources, functional requirements and timing.
The Senior Manager must set internal goals and develop existing processes to ensure quality and budget goals are have proven leadership skills, provide employee performance feedback and coach senior professionals. The position will have six to eight direct reports that will lead groups of calibrators who execute their respective projects for multiple powertrain combinations. The candidate will be accomplished at creating a team environment, creating clear direction, alignment and commitment. The job typically includes 2 - 4 weeks of travel throughout the year for system validation and overnight drives to verify calibration job locations will be Chelsea, MI and Auburn Hills, MI (3 days at Chelsea Proving Groundsand2 days at Chrysler Technical Center).
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent degree from an ABET Accredited University
• Minimum of 10 years accumulated experience in transmission calibration, driveability calibration, powertrain systems, fuel economy related calibrations or related engineering positions
• At least 3 - 5 years of prior experience successfully leading large groups of engineers to complete complex technical tasks
• Thorough understanding of engine system fundamentals and gasoline emissions
• Demonstrated leadership of large groups to achieve complex goals
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications: • Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent degree from an ABET Accredited University
• Experience with Matlab / Simulink
• Hardware-in-the-loop Development/Verification
• Database Management of Production Calibrations
