We?re a medium size team of 19 developers including on and off shore. We focus on partnering with the middleware and front end application development teams and helping them move forward with solutions that are easy to maintain, require the least coupling, and follow our latest standards. The team works on java components that are common to multiple front end applications with the purpose of increasing code re-use, consistency, and standards.
This team is transitioning from providing backend insulation and separation of business logic from presentation to helping front end applications migrate to SOA. With 90+% of new connect sales going through the components this team is responsible for, this team is also starting to focus on more technical debt type KPIs and best practices.
The team has an overall application manager and an off shore tech lead. We?re looking to for an on shore tech lead. We?re looking for an experienced software engineer whose planning to transition in to application management by getting a year or two of experience as the team?s technical lead. The tech lead will be the point of contact for all projects to allow the developers to maintain focus on their core competency. Teams such as quality assurance, project management, and the business will be interacting with the tech lead on a daily bases through multiple communication channels including face to face meetings, emails, IMs, phone calls and periodically video conferences.
-effectively communicate with clients including front end application developers, quality assurance folks, project managers, and the business
-co-ordinate development and defect research/resolution across multiple projects
-provide level of effort estimates during the planning and scoping phase of the SDLC
-Actively participate in product design meetings with the goal to ensure best practices are followed
-monitor and ensure team goals are met and best practices are followed
-insulate developers from distracting questions/meetings
-plan/manage/prioritize work to meet project objectives and team goals
-bachelor?s degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent
-six years of experience in software development
