SENIOR GEOPHYSICIS/ GEOPHYSICAL ADVISOR
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate within the team and across the value chain to carry out basin analysis; produce play fairway and risk maps; construct ‘war maps’ to aid strategy development; provide direction for new venture activity.
Identify and make recommendations to evaluate, based on sound technical judgment, new venture opportunities that meet business objectives.
Carry out quality assurance of geophysical data.
3D seismic interpretation to recommend well locations, and also advise on New Venture opportunities.
Interpret and integrate geophysical data with geological and engineering information at basin, play and prospect scale.
Geophysical attribute analysis.
Potential fields interpretation.
Contribute to basin and petroleum systems modeling.
Work with specialists across the disciplines to deliver regional evaluations.
Requirements:
5years+ of relevant industry experience (prior Shale Gas exploration a distinct advantage).
Degree/MSc in Petroleum Geology or Petroleum Geophysics.
Experience of the petroleum systems.
Excellent geotechnical skills.
In-depth working knowledge of seismic interpretation systems (Petrel).
Good understanding of economic analysis.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work within a collaborative environment and communicate at all levels and across business units.
Motivated, and a self-starter with a hard working approach.
Promote/undertake work activities in a safe manner.
