Title Senior Engineer Design / Test- Greenwood, SC
Job Description Eaton Corporation has an opening for Senior Engineer - Design/Test in Greenwood, SC.
Posiiton will be responsible for all aspects of electrical and mechanical design, application, documentation and testing of medium and low voltage electrical protective equipment produced at the Eaton Power Breaker Center.
Duties will include:
- Working with Sales and customers to provide job quotations and electrical drawings.
- Working with customers to identify and rectify electrical or mechanical breaker problems, sometimes at customer sites.
- Conducting program to make sure all test records are complete, accurate and well organized.
- Conducting demos of various products at PBC or customer sites.
- Ensuring that all product designs conform to applicable ANSI/IEEE and other applicable standards
- Ensuring that product produced conforms to all requirements.
- Leading design and performing design of products, including electrical controls.
- Design, construction and maintenance of test equipment.
- Conducting production testing when required.
- Planning and conducting product qualification testing in-house and at remote labs as required: BIL, temp rise testing and instrumentation, short time testing, interruption testing, momentary testing, dielectric testing, endurance testing.
- Learning and staying current on all ANSI/IEEE and other applicable standards.
- Component and vendor selection.
- Purchase specifications.
- Technical and project support.
- Technical writing, which includes product instruction manuals and other product literature.
Relocation is not included with this position. Only candidates within the immediate geographic area will be considered.
Job Qualifications
/Educational Requirements - BSEE or BSME
- 5-20 years experience in product design and testing utilizing applied electrical and mechanical engineering principals, with significant knowledge of power electrical theory, testing and applications
- Knowledge of test instrumentation
- Not looking for pure theoretician must be hands-on type
- Competency with solids modeling a real plus, e.g Inventor, Pro-E etc.
- Must be able to manage projects to completion while meeting deadlines
and cost objectives with little or no supervision
