Senior Engineer
One of our priemere clients in Dallas, TX is looking for a permanent Senior Engineer. This is an urgent need and more of a support role than deployment role.
2-3 Years’ experience with VDI technologies and supporting desktop challenges related to VDI (Networking, FW, Latency, Protocol Variances)
2-3 Years’ experience with VMware View
1-2 years’ experience with Citrix related configuration, deployment, and support
Understand networking infrastructure to identify when a problem is network related
Will provide 3rd/4th level support to internal users across the country and worldwide
JOB DUTIES – INCLUDES PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ONLY
Under limited supervision plans, designs, builds, administrates, and troubleshoots Windows Server and Active Directory issues and services, lead project teams.
Discuss, understand and recommend best placement of infrastructure solutions by staying current with networking changes, LAN/WAN challenges, and destination limitations of central data centers
Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding system/server problems
Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and troubleshooting documentation
Performs server audits and remediation
Assist operational staff with moderately complex support issues
Assist the operational teams with root cause analysis and solutions to moderately complex production issues
May proactively identify potential issues in the production environment and help recommend potential solutions
Conduct analysis of systems specifications and use analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes
May provide guidance and training to less experienced engineers
Requirements:
A minimum of five (5) years supporting Microsoft Active Directory
A minimum of five (5) years supporting and building Windows 2003/2008 servers
A minimum of three (3) years supporting VMware ESX
Experience with SAN technologies, LUN allocations, and/or disk management best practices
Must know how to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and Outlook to perform daily duties
Operating Systems Used:
Windows Server 2003/2008
Workstation Operating Systems, including Windows XP and Windows 7
Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
