Senior Engineer Position Information Company Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Llc (SAS)Location Austin,Travel Required NoneDescription PositionSummary The Senior CAD Engineer will be responsible within the SAMSUNG AUSTIN RESEARCH CENTER (SARC) for delivering leading-edge timing closure for high-speed, low-power CPU's, leading to quick tape-outs. This position REQUIRES several years of Hands-on, industry experience within a high-performance microprocessor design environment.Common EssentialDuties & Resp. Develop CAD flows for timing closure on aggressive CPU and IP designs. Setup extraction and STA flows that ensure timing success with first pass silicon. Explore post-route or ECO methodologies to close timing across multiple corners and modes with minimal iterations and perterbations to original design. Consult on good timing constraint practices that minimize inaccurate or incorrect timing. Work closely with design teams to ensure clock uncertainty, OCV, AOCVM and guardbanding are properly set. Perform correlation studies vs. sign-off timing, diagnose issues, and drive necessary fixes with design and technology development teams. Develop and analyze statistical STA flow by working with technology teams and making critical deployment decisions in design methodology.Background /Experience MSEE and 7 to 10 years of hands on CAD Methodology experience. Necessary Skills /Attributes Several years of hands on timing closure of high frequency COMMERCIALIZED chips. Experience setting up and maintaining CAD flows to achieve timing correlation between implementation and timing sign-off. hands on experience with Industry Standard tools like PrimeTime, Star-RC, IC Compiler and equivalent.
