This hands-on position requires creativity as well as technical competency to identify and develop unique engineering solutions for next generation products.
The Range Mechanical Design Engineer will own the entire process of designing, prototyping, testing and evaluating new designs as part of a cross functional team. Essential Responsibilities - Work in a cross-functional environment to identify & develop initial design concepts - Incorporate design for Six Sigma and Lean principles into product designs - Create prototype models that incorporate new concepts to demonstrate product feasibility - Design & execute evaluation plans to demonstrate design performance to required technical specifications and regulatory requirements - Support the implementation of chosen design concepts within the manufacturing facility by participating in lean events and executing product builds Qualifications/Requirements - BS degree in Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 8 - 10 years of design experience in consumer products, automotive, or other comparable industries - Travel between Louisville, KY (design team location) and Lafayette, GA (production facility) to support activities in both locations - Excellent teamwork skills - Self-starter Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
