Senior Design EngineerSenior Design Engineer Position Information Company Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Llc (SAS)Location Austin, TexasTravel Required NoneDescription PositionSummary The Sr. Design Engineer at Samsung Semiconductor Austin R&D Center (SARC) will be part of a physical integration team and interact with internal engineering teams of logic designers, STA engineers and custom block engineers. Common EssentialDuties & Resp. -Plan, direct or coordinate semiconductor engineering design, development, and testing for firm products and devices in conjunction with hardware product development for the electronic communications industry. -Produce Register-Transfer Level (RTL)/netlists to GDS flow and delivery of high quality final database design. -Implement new engineering assignments including hands-on responsibility from netlist to GDS delivery. -Develop physical design/integration flows for high performance and low-power Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) development including floor-planning, and custom place and route in chip-level hierarchical layout environment. -Support the physical integration team, logic designers, STA engineers, and custom block engineers in signoff tasks including full chip timing closure, power integrity, signal integrity and layout signoff flow. -Coordinate methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products to ensure compliance with GPU design specifications, and codes; and provide technical leadership in process technology and design methodology to internal engineers and physical integration team. -Apply knowledge of low power design/implementation (power gating and state retention techniques, etc.), Cadence Encounter and Conformal Tools, PrimeTime-SI, Static Timing Analysis (STA), Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS), Logic Equivalency Checking and Common Power Format (CPF). Background /Experience MS in Electrical Eng., Electronics Eng., Eng., Computer Eng., or Mathematics and 2 years experience in job offered or 2 years in related experience.
