Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent degree plus work related exerience, Minimum of 6 years of experience in Site Civil and/or Land Development with a progressive level of responsibility; and a minimum of 3 years of experience as lead engineer on projects. Must be Registered as a Professional Engineer in Florida.
The ability to design and prepare and/or direct a team to design and prepare construction documents covering all aspects of land development including demolition, grading, drainage, water, sewer and paving systems; and the ability to prepare permit application submittal packages including calculations for stormwater management systems and water and sewer demand. Proficient use of AutoCAD (including LDD or Civil 3D), ICPR, StormCAD and WaterCAD is required. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team of engineers and/or designers, strong communication and leadership skills. The position requires strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) with clients, regulatory agencies and design team in order to maintain project schedule and objectives. The successful candidate will have input on scope and fee cost proposals as well as the responsibility of maintaining project budgets. Daily responsibilities include preparation and maintenance of project schedules, design, calculations, permit applications, construction drawing preparation, client and team communication. This position reports to the Civil Department Unit Leader, but work under the supervision of the project manager. Position will routinely interact other disciplines within the Boca Raton office or throughout URS. Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships are critical. The candidate must possess experience with regulatory agencies including the Florida Water Management Districts, FDEP and ACOE.
