Minimum Requirements: Experience ? 7 to 10 years' experience in drafting of civil and or rail engineering consultancy focussing on roadway and rail projects. ? Proven track record of road and freeway design.
Qualifications ? Qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Drafting would be highly regarded, but are not essential. ? Driver's license would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Skills ? Proficient in CADD software predominantly using Microstaion. ? Well-developed technical drafting experience. ? Strong analytical skills. ? Well developed planning and organisational skills. ? Well-developed self-motivational and verbal communication skills are desirable. ? Ability to work independently and with limited direction
Knowledge ? An understanding of VicRoads Design Guidelines and road design methodology. ? An understanding of Victorian Rail Industry Operators Group Standards ? Data collation and analysis.

Job Description: Position Summary
URS Corporation is one of the world's leading engineering and environmental consultancies offering investigative, planning, design and construction phase services in the infrastructure and water sectors. URS Melbourne provides engineering services in civil, water and environmentally focused industry sectors. In particular URS provides consultancy services associated with the design and remediation of roads, tunnels, bridges, major dams, reservoirs, weirs and associated structures through the Civil Infrastructure group. Example projects are detailed design of Calder/Kings Interchange, George St. Bridge, Regional Rail Link, Blackwater Duplication and Legacy Way. This position will provide civil design engineering services on transport infrastructure projects being delivered by the Melbourne Office.
Responsibilities/Objectives You will be responsible and accountable for;
? Lead, train and assist the other civil designers and drafters. ? Carrying out drafting duties as directed predominately using Microstation, knowledge of MX, InRoads, InRail and AutoCAD helpful. ? The application of sound drafting techniques and electronic file management to solve problems. ? The enhancement of conceptual and detailed drafting solutions and the communication of this information. ? Understanding of relevant codes and standards in the development of designs (E.G. Vic Roads Design Guidelines and VRIOGS) ? Participation in client meetings to clearly understand the client needs and working with the team to meet these needs, as required. ? Providing assistance with preparing tenders and proposals. ? Participation in internal office functional duties when required. ? Participation in external professional bodies, associations and the like to enhance your knowledge of the Melbourne Engineering community and advance your own professional standing.
