Minimum Requirements: The candidate must have a minimum 10 years of CADD experience and demonstrate previous CADD experience on multi-year, multi-phase, multi-discipline projects.
The candidate must be extremely proficient in MicroStation V8, V8i and XM, AutoCad, InRoads, Iplot and other 3D Bentley products. The candidate is expected to provide CADD management, as well as design leadership for multi-disciplines working from different offices in-house and outside sub-consultants to provide quality contract documents ready for construction.
The candidate must be familiar with the following aspects of CADD: drafting principles for sections; elevations; details; cross-reference annotation between drawing sheets; standard drafting abbreviations; earth volume calculations; converting raw survey data into topography and/or bathymetry contours; working with base maps and x-refs; setting up plot/pen tables; 3D drafting; and civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural drafting and details. The candidate is expected to have an excellent command of English and technical language and annotation used in civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical design drawings. The position will have the potential to expand into a CADD Manager role for major design projects.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Experience Requirements: Provide technical and management knowledge for major clients with exciting long term projects. Act as liaison between in-house offices in the Greater Los Angeles Basin and outside firms on various projects in the region. The candidate will be working with multi-disciplines from various offices and sub-consultants as the CADD liaison between the Project Manager and the design production staff and sub-consultants. The candidate will review the work of others and manage the work product in accordance with client CADD Standards for file management, CAD drafting, file naming conventions, level control and completeness for each submittal and deliverable. The CADD manager will report to the Project Manager on the status of progress, completeness of the work and compliance with the client CADD standards
Organize and support the project teams in multi-offices to meet design deliverables on time and budget. Work with project manger, task leaders and project engineers from different departments and offices for a unified appearance of a design package of drawings for multiple projects. Establish QA/QC procedures that meet the internal and external CADD standards. EOE M/F/D/V
