Description The SAP Business Intelligence Architect’s role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses based on SAP BW and Business Objects architecture. This role will serve as a strategic architect and liaison providing assistance to various members of the teams by understanding the business processes and requirements of the users at a depth sufficient to design and implement the appropriate BI architecture and solution.
This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, configuring and rolling out BI solutions to end users. The Business Intelligence Architect is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
Responsibilities * Will need excellent collaborative and team work skills in order to work across organizations within Copart i.e. Sales, Operations and Finance. * Direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems. * Lead the integration efforts for merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications. * Design, code, configure, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs. * Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions. * Develop graphs and portal interfaces. * Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperabilitywith BI solutions. * Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications. * Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system. * Work with project managers to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change and delete functions meet business requirements for project completion. * Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organization’s business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle. * Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary. * Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary. * Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments.. * Provide training modules for TSS and Business Stakeholders appropriately. * Mentor other BI Team members in SAP data warehouse technology. Job Requirements :
Position Requirements * Two plus years acting as a technical project lead. * Four (4) to six (6) years experience with SAP BI/BW (3.5 and/or 7.0) with hands on experience with Administrator Workbench * Three (3) to five (5) years experience in Data Modeling, Data warehousing and enterprise reporting tools. * Three (3) to five (5) years BOBJ experience developing reports and dashboards * Three plus years using ETL tools and related methodologies and approaches along with SAP Netweaver components experience. * Three plus years developing Infocubes and queries in at least one of the modules: SD, FI and MM * Must have two (2) plus years programming in ABAP * Must have thorough knowledge of SQL and basic knowledge of at least 2 other programming languages * Expertise in Business Objects tools, such as Scheduler, Designer, Data * Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications. * Full project management and development life cycle experience. * Experience with database design applications, including DB2, Oracle, MySql, and SQL Server. * Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques. * Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. * Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws a plus. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. * Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Education * College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
