Specific Job Description Champion the software development process for the program. Participate and/or conduct various reviews during the development process: Design/Architecture Reviews, Software Code Reviews, Peer Reviews, Artifact Inspections, TEMs, etc. Provide constructive criticism to team members to ensure best practice coding standards and techniques are followed.

The Chief Programmer is responsible for providing technical guidance for the methods, scheduling and implementation of software development activities within the program.

Work with the program leadership and individual developers to ensure the correct technology path is taken. The Chief Programmer will present emerging software technologies and work to implement these technologies within the program.

The Chief Programmer should have an understanding of the Agile Development process.

Communicate technical status with customer representatives as well as LMC managers, Chief Engineers and all other technical contributors.

Will also attend and support the adhoc customer meetings, Engineering Review Board, Scheduling meetings, Risk Review Board, system Demos and transition readiness forums. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and how they can be best implemented within the program.

Work with team in the technical analysis and resolution of problems which affect the system and help to provide software, database, hardware or procedural work-arounds or fixes that best resolve the issues. Provide critical decision making expertise in evaluating problems, their impact on the operational system and alternative solutions.

Lead and effect change in a very dynamic and challenging environment, along with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.

The Chief Programmer must show an understanding of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technology and concepts along with an understanding and experience with Web Services. The individual will also work with teams that perform COTS integration.
