The RF Technician shall be responsible for the tuning, test, and qualification of prototype engineering designs. In close collaboration with lead RF and microwave engineers, the technician will test and demonstrate the functioning of the sub-system to specifications. In conjunction with the drafting and documentation departments, the technician is responsible for the accurate documentation including red-line changes, to the schematics, layouts, qualification and acceptance test procedures, work and tuning instructions.
The technician is also required on occasion, to support the qualification testing that includes electrical, vibration, shock, thermal, and EMI/EMC tests on new designs. The qualification tests may be conducted locally at Herley, or at external test facilities. Travel up to three weeks for each qualification may be required. The technician shall have an on-going responsibility to support the Quality and Manufacturing departments, through continued use of design for manufacturability (DFM) practices and continual quality improvement. On occasion, support to manufacturing department to tune, test, and deliver products may be required. Adheres to Herley’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Standards.

US Citizenship required and Active Secret-level clearance preferred. At a minimum, must be eligible to apply for a Secret-level clearance. Qualifications: Requirements include US Citizenship with Military Electronic Schooling or accredited AS/AA Electronics Degree with 5+ years of microwave test experience. Demonstrated experience with tuning, trouble shooting, and test of microwave sub-systems, including but not limited to frequency up-an-down-converters, amplifiers, oscillators, and radar components. Experience with microwave design software, AWR Microwave Office and MS Office is desired.
