Position Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide support in the performance of duties in the Range Control Center and Mobile Range Control Systems.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
' Work on various types of fixed and mobile electronic command and control equipment and related devices by performing one or a combination of the following: operating, installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing
' Apply a technical knowledge of electronic principles to determine malfunctions and to put the equipment in required operating condition
' Perform testing to ensure the proper calibration and operation of equipment during project operations
' use and application of all test equipment related to validation, troubleshooting, and configuration of various data collection systems is required
' Work from engineering drawings and specifications and utilizes a thorough knowledge of the operating characteristics and circuit design of the various electronic and computerized instrumentation systems
' Maintain up-to-date logs and submit reports of activities and/or accomplishments
' Operate and maintain the data transmission systems, acquisition systems, timing systems, special computer systems and display systems employed to integrate the radar systems into the Control Center data display and computer complex
' Coordinate with all mobile and down range stations, including surveillance aircraft which are participating in any given project
' Input surveillance targets to the range surveillance computer for determining ship density in rocket impact areas
' Prepare and notify users of the daily schedule of range operations
' Monitor the Range Control Center during non-range operations for all intercommunication calls
Experience Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
' Associates degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent Military training with 4 years of direct experience
' In Lieu of formal education candidate must have 6 or more years of practical working experience with computer based data quality and data reduction systems
' Mechanical and mobile systems experience desired
