This position will support USG as a Network Engineer providing expertise on computer network test ranges. Individual will work with computer network components, switches, routers, servers, clients, boundary protection devices, network management devices, virtualization, traffic generation, instrumentation and data collection systems. Will configure, maintain, monitor, and coordinate the operation of complex local and/or wide area networks; works under limited supervision; performs additional duties as assigned. Individual will provide technical assistance during configuration, operation, and maintenance of network equipment. Will configure and upgrade network software and hardware, as directed. Assist with server upgrades, integration, and installation, as needed. Install, configure, and maintain network-monitoring software to include: Cisco Works, Observer Suite, and SolarWinds. Individual will maintain tight configuration control over the network architecture and equipment and make recommendations for COTS hardware/software upgrades and implementation of new network systems, as needed.
Required: Requires a minimum of five years of networking and routing experience. Experience must include designing, implementing and/or testing LANs. Must have experience with Information Assurance and physical/network security, Cisco devices supporting DOD networks and with current Microsoft and Linux operating systems. Individual must be able to troubleshoot networks with little to no supervision.
