One of Austin's major manufacturing companies is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector. The ideal candidate would match the following critea:
Ability to interpret complex blueprints Mechanical measurements utilizing various hand held measuring tools Mechanical measurements utilizing programmable measuring equipment Establish methods of measurement for new products Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y 14.5M-1994 Verify packaging matches specified requirements (where indicated) or is adequate if no specific requirements exist Understanding of first-article inspections and quality concepts Documents finished product status by recording and summarizing raw materials, in-process, and finished-product inspection and physical test data; updating quality assurance data base Five years experience in quality inspection of products including metrology Demonstrated experience with MS Office products: Word, Excel, Powerpoint Understanding or demonstrated experience (preferred) with Oracle and/or SAP ERP systems AS technical degree preferably in mechanical discipline or equivalent experience ASQ Inspector or Technician certification a plus Must be able to work unsupervised and perform duties as required in timely manner Must be able to communicate with various levels of engineering, materials, and management regarding the status of incoming materials status Experience with CMM programming Lifting up to 35 pounds Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion Employee will be expected to attend safety training, and participate in hazard analysis and resolution including other company-specific training
