Department: Quality Reports To: Quality Manager Location: San Diego , CA Classification: Hourly Direct Reports: None Summary: Supports manufacturing and Quality manager to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through co-workers. Acts as focal for interplant communication, assuring a cohesive LMI approach to meeting its customer quality requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following, which will be accomplished through a combination of work by the incumbent and his/her co-workers. Other duties may be assigned.
. Perform computer input operations as required.
. Thorough familiarity with customer requirements, analyze existing procedures and systems to determine their level of compliance to requirements.
. Performs receiving/shipping inspections
. Preparation of certificates and shipping documentation issues Certificate of Conformance (C of C)
. Performs Document and Data controls. (specifications, vendor surveys, approved vendors list, certifications, drawings etc).
. Reviews and approves purchase orders for outside services required.
. Performs required actions pertaining to non-conforming product. Completes discrepancy reports, distributes copies as needed and assist with corrective actions.
. Perform necessary inspections to fully support applicable departments. First articles, First parts, In process, Receiving, Final and Shipping inspections. Floor inspections supporting manufacturing with procedures, paper work and drawings.
. Support customer source inspections.
. Maintain and calibrate measuring and test equipment.
. Assist with training. Company procedures, customer requirements, engineering.
. 6S Responsible to maintain work areas. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Quality inspection or closely related experience preferably aerospace sheet metal, familiar with the use of inspection tools, (micrometer, caliper, height gage, protractor, mylars) Familiar with customer engineering and parts list, work orders, customer specifications, working knowledge of ISO, ability to perform computer input. Computer Skills: Familiar with the Microsoft suite, internet and customer portals Other Skills and Abilities:
