Quality Engineer

Growing SW Florida Company seeks a Quality Engineer with experience in compliance and supplier quality in a manufacturing environment.   Provides support to assigned projects, programs, or areas to ensure that all products are built in accordance with customer, corporate, and regulatory requirements

Essential Functions:

• Assists Quality Director in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system
  
• Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Lean methods, etc.
  
• Leads investigations to determine root causes of product and process defects including field and internal failures
  
• Develops and delivers training to build quality awareness in order to support the Quality Department mission
  
• Interfaces with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfers of new products to Production are in accordance with approved plan and data
  
• Prepares QA reports

• Participates as cross-functional team member supporting interdepartmental activities, representing the interests and concerns of the quality assurance/quality engineering function
  
• Develops Quality Plans and provides quality support for new product introduction
  
• Develops, maintains, and analyzes Key Performance Indicators to identify recurring trends and drive improvement actions
  
• Leads quality improvement projects that drive continual improvement through utilization of tools such as DOE, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, 8D Root Cause Analysis, and Lean
  
• Implements and maintains systems to report and improve quality
  
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation
  
• Assists in the development of processes and procedures to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met
  
• Maintains awareness of the costs of quality and promotes activities to monitor and reduce quality costs

• BS in a technical field or equivalent experience
  
• Ability to multitask
  
• Working knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning tools
  
• Familiar with ISO 9000 requirements
  
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  
• Ability to write clear and accurate reports and standard business correspondence
  
• Ability to read and use prints and drawings                                                  
  
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and apply fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry             
  
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  
• Possesses a practical use and knowledge of APQP tools
  
• Experience in problem-solving tools such as 8-D, 5 Whys, Cause and Effect and DMAIC
  
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  
• Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics analysis
  
• Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation
  
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with high attention to detail
  
• Ability to utilize data and remain objective during decision making
  
• Lift 50 pounds
  
• Advanced level of use of Microsoft Office Suite applications
