Quality Engineer
Key Functions: Primary quality engineering support including product quality calls, product disposition, customer returns and support of the Product Quality. Lead and support projects including improvements in data collection/analysis and internal specification management using a DMAIC Six Sigma philosophy. Lead smaller continuous improvement projects that proactively address identified quality system weaknesses and support the goals of the organization. Set and drive implementation of quality requirements for new product designs/transfers to ensure they are capable of meeting customer specifications and production requirements. This includes establishing quality requirements for new product demonstration and analyzing the results with respect to customer, production and product quality requirements. Duties: y- Responsible for making product disposition decisions to ensure quality requirements and expectations are met. These dispositions may require interpretation of requirements and expectations as well as appropriate data analysis. y- Drive continuous quality improvement by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and improving plant quality systems. y- Assist in researching customer complaints and product returns to determine root cause as well as corrective and preventative actions. y- Track and report quality department metrics. Alert appropriate levels to trends and critical quality issues. y- Interface with various levels of plant, working closely with operations to maintain quality specifications and implement process improvements. y- Develop and manage a quality department training and certification program y- Provide statistical analysis and support to engineering and production as related to quality issues and new product uirements: y- 4 year degree.
