Quality Engineer - For world class manufacturer of welded body & chassis systems for the automotive, commercial vehicle and agricultural industries.
This position seeks candidates with 3+ years of experience in body & chassis stampings and welded sub assemblies, and having a significant background in GD&T and SPC applications, GP12 sort activity and process control plans and audits.
The purpose of this role is to support the success of multiple welded products by applying quality tools and systems to continually improve products and processes in a variety of manufacturing and business environments.
This position requires the ability to build relationships externally with customers and suppliers, and internally, throughout the organization, as working to drive continuous improvement initiatives, support new product development and ensure that the voice of the customer is integrated into the operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform quality and reliability reviews of product and product documentation.
* Generate quality plans and execute plans to verify performance of components and/or products to specifications.
* Issue verification/validation reports based on test results or comparisons to similar designs and make recommendations for release or corrective action.
* Develop and execute audits on products.
* Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable quality regulations, policies and procedures.
* Serve as the quality representative on new product development teams or other project teams.
* Support the customer approval process, PPAP, for new product and design change products.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to learn and to increase and update knowledge and methods affecting area of responsibility.
* Familiarity of requirements associated with the TS16949 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
* Familiar with problem solving methodologies along with problem solving tools to conduct analysis, identify root causes, develop corrective action and verify effective closure and removal of issues.
* Strong written and presentation skills are required.
* Experience in analyzing, implementing and sustaining systems and processes for continuous improvement.
* Ability to utilize appropriate judgment and discretion as they relate to responsibilities.
* Ability to plan and organize work to effectively perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
