Quality Audit Specialist

There's a new car company on the horizon and it's going to make a resounding wave throughout the automotive world: We are the New Chrysler Group LLC, the collaborative team of Chrysler and Fiat®, and we have our sights set on producing the most fuel efficient, reliable, stylish and safe vehicles across all brands by reinventing products and creating new ideas. Come see how we're going to change the automotive landscape over the next two years with new and exciting vehicles every driver -- around the globe -- deserves.

In 2008, the Quality Organization within Chrysler became its own standalone function. Since then, the group has more than tripled in size. This growth is a testament to the commitment of Chryslers' senior management to produce a top-rated quality product. In setting high standards in the six types of quality: reliability, dissatisfaction, regulatory, perceived, performance, and service, Chrysler's product line and customer experience has improved dramatically. The teams within the Quality Organization are empowered to improve customer satisfaction for their system or area. As a result, Chrysler now has the best quality in the 73-year history of the company.

Currently we are seeking a Quality Audit Specialist to join Chrysler's Quality Organization at the Trenton Engine Manufacturing facility. The Quality Audit Specialist will support the overall manufacturing goals for quality performance as well as monitor and improve the health of the quality systems in production of the 500,000 per year engine production facility. This position offers the selected candidate an opportunity to be an internal part of company whose focus is to change the automotive landscape.

The specific responsibilities of the role are:

• Manage day to day quality control and quality audit activities
• Supervise Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure the design, maintenance and assembly of engine components are consistent and meet specifications and that no imperfect parts are used in the construction of the engines
• Supervise metrology, dimensional audit, functional audit, hot test, Dyno and torque auditors
• Report out audit results and use results to help drive improvements throughout the facility
• Participate in a 3/2/120 schedule rotation

The successful candidate must possess outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must be high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. This person must have unquestioned integrity.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree
• Manufacturing experience
• Flexibility to work on a rotating crew schedule over two shifts
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
• Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineering degree preferred
• Strong Root cause and problem solving skills
• Ability to use data to identify and resolve problems
• Good knowledge of GD&T and SPC
• CMM and Dyno experience a plus
• Quality experience
• 5 years supervision / management experience

Other requirement:

3/2/120"" rotation: That means three crews working two shifts for a total of 120 hours each week. This structure offers flexibility for both the company and workers. The facility's team members work a 3/2/120 schedule, consisting of three rotating crews working two shifts of 10-hr days with no overtime. The innovative scheduling allows employees to get 49 extra days off per year, while the plant runs six days a week without overtime for 49 more days of operation than a typical plant.
