Specific Job Description Supplier Quality Engineer for the Lufkin facility. This position will report directly to the Lufkin Site Quality Manager.
Lead Supplier Quality improvements for the site. Main site contact for Supplier Quality issues and initiatives. In conjunction with Dallas programs and Lufkin site - evaluate data to identify critical material issues with supplied hardware, prioritize site issues requiring resolution, develop improvement/resolution strategies and plans, and drive to execute those improvement initiatives.
Responsible for managing stock purge process. Own corrective/preventive action processes. Coordinate preparation/maintenance of trend data for supplier issues and corrective action plans.
Communication with all levels of management, suppliers, and manufacturing on the discoveries and initiative. Drive and motivate teams to improve supplier quality. Coordinate all supplier visits to the Lufkin site. As required, participate in supplier visits.
Work cross-organizationally to ensure success of initiatives. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
