Job Description : •Provide engineering services to cross-functional new product project teams (Engineering, Marketing, Project Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing) to develop new tool products. Plan and manage resources effectively to meet performance, TTM, and quality objectives •Design and development of unique benchtop tools, rotary tools and attachments for the Dremel brand • Design with ProE, build and test prototypes, cooperate with suppliers and users, create BOM's, create cost estimations, quality/test plans •Lead and direct assigned engineering activities of the project teams in order to achieve successful market introduction according to the New Product Development Process, as measured against Design Book targets. Includes: Developing components and systems solutions that achieve target functionality and performance, coordinating development testing and failure analysis, working with suppliers to ensure purchased component cost efficiency and performance, supporting manufacturing on fabrication and assembly issues, and cooperating with marketing to ensure product output satisfies customer needs. •Design, develop, schedule, document, and release product and material specifications for new and existing products. Construct and communicate engineering changes, bills of material, and specifications to Engineering Information Services. Develop patentable solutions to practical user based or marketing anticipated needs and trends. •Participate in team meetings and activities, and support project activities, providing guidance and expertise to Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Distribution to ensure all objectives are met. •Proactively anticipate and seek out innovation, quality improvement, and cost reduction opportunities for new and existing products •Stay abreast of industry trends, implementing new technologies in order to improve cost and performance. Job Requirements : *Requirements: Bachelors Degree - BSME 3-5 years experience in consumer goods industry Design, Mfg, Quality, Materials, Process fundamentals 5-7 yrs. Product design or project engineering 2-3 yrs. CAD software (3D), preferably Pro/Engineer 2-3 yrs.
