Project Engineer, Group Leader Mechanical Steam Turbine Design
Title: Project Engineer, Group Leader Mechanical Steam Turbine Design Location: POL-Mazurskie-Elblag As part of the build up of our project execution engineering team in Elblag, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the Renewable Power, Small Steam Turbine activity.
Based in Elblag and reporting to the local Engineering Manager, you will be part of the project execution team for our newly created GRT small steam turbine product offering. In this role you will be responsible for the mechanical design engineering tasks and production ordering associated with industrial steam turbines.
Tasks and Responsibilities: * Leading group of mechanical design engineers * Perform engineering work for the project, e.g. customisation engineering of models and detail drawings of turbine parts and assemblies for orders (Tool set is CATIA V5 for 3D modelling and 2D drawing as well as Team Center and R-PDM) * Customisation of product data management (PDM), e.g. for protocols, inspection and test plans and part lists as well as storage of the Quality documentation * Planning, forecasting and on time delivery as well as release of detail documentation for reviews, purchasing, manufacturing and factory/site assembly as well as for input to arrangement and layout planning, for transportation and foundation design * Co-operation with all team members and coordination of interfaces within the team for all engineering aspects during the engineering and execution of a project * Satisfy project and specification requirements while maximizing the application of standard concepts and keeping the design for manufacture and installation as a critical aspect in mind * Technical coordination and supervision of sub-suppliers related to hardware deliveries but also of the engineering output of other design execution locations * Technical support of erection and commissioning activities * Technical support to tendering * Support continuous improvement of working procedures and instructions within the work package responsibility by integrating business objectives * Ensure Experience Feedback to the relevant functions in the organization (e.g. R&D, sales) * O&M Manuals preparation * Preparation of internal engineering WI and design instructions * Share experience and knowlegde with less (younger) experience engineers ("go to guy") * Deputising the head of engineering in Elblag during his absence in decision making You will have a constructive, team and target-orientated attitude with high level of self-motivation. You will have an Honours level degree in Mechanical Engineering, or alternatively equivalent qualifications obtained through a combination of education and training.
You will have a good understanding of operation concepts for steam turbines and at least 4 years strong experience in CAD (3D and 2D) of turbomachinery generator sets preferably steam turbines including life steam valves and its production/manufacturing processes. Youare a professional user of IT solutions in the field of work such as CATIA V5, Team Center and R-PDM. Data base knowledge, and familiarity of tools like PDMS, SECAD and KKS System and MS Office is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of power generation in general, operation and maintenance of steam turbines, safety and control/supervision and instrumentation, risk analysis and international codes and standards are required. English language skills are a prerequisite for the position.
