Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's in Architecture
Minimum of 10 years experience working as a production architect on commercial design and construction projects that range in construction value from $3 Million to $20 Million. Experience should have an emphasis on production and managing multi-discipline Architecture and Engineering production teams.
Experience should include supervision of staff members and leadership and communication skills in mentoring junior staff and team members.
Must be a licensed architect in the State of Ohio.
Position requires the experience to understand how to organize a set of construction documents, detail the construction of a building and coordinate with multiple disciplines to complete the detailing of a building.
The candidate must be able to understand design and construction schedules and understand the construction cost/schedule implications of design and detailing decisions.
Candidate must have a strong knowledge of current applicable building codes.
Candidate must have the ability to produce documents in AutoCAD and in 3-D programs such as Revit, Sketch-Up and photoshop, production of specifications with MaterSpec or E-Specs. Candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Work and Excel.
Must have ability to effectively communicate with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Owners, Contractors, etc.
Requires effective planning, decision-making, organizational and time management skills, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
Must have current, valid Drivers License. Job Description: This position will be part of the Cleveland Facilities Practice and will work on a variety of projects that could include commercial, college and university or K-12 type projects. The work could include Master Planning, Feasibility Studies, Building Assessments, LEED Building Design, Programming, Design, Construction Documents and Construction Administration.
This position will coordinate one to four team members in the production of construction documents. This could include design and construction document production activities.
The position will be reporting through the Architecture Department and will be responsible for working with a Project Manager, Project Designer and URS Clients to design and document the building that the Client wants to build.
Day to day tasks for this position could include Organizing and planning construction documents, Code analysis, designing and drawing construction details, Writing specifications, coordinating with other Architects and/or Engineers, Communicating with Project Managers, Clients, Construction Managers, etc. regarding detailed project information.
