Programmer Analyst 3

The Airplane Health Solutions (AHS) team is seeking an experienced programmer/analyst to work as a member of the AHS operations team to monitor and respond to abnormal conditions for the AHS applications. These applications are Airplane Health Management (AHM), AHM Military (AHM Mil), Maintenance Message Reporting (MMR), Fuel Performance Management (FuelPM) and Minimum Equipment List Dispatch Advisor (MDA). More applications will be created.

Strong leadership, teaming, technical and analytical skills are required in addition to experience in implementing and executing an agile software development process.

Use the Boeing standard tools including HP Service Manager and a test-driven agile development process to design, implement and enhance a system that monitors the AHS applications from both an end user perspective and an information technology infrastructure perspective, and provides a dashboard to view and respond to the state of these applications.

Work as an AHS operations team member to proactively monitor the AHS applications, and periodically be on-call to perform 24x7 production support for the applications.

Team with the AHS developers to document the information technology (IT) architecture and application processes that comprise their applications.

Team with the AHS product managers and developers to define the measures and metrics that will be used to monitor the health of their applications. Maintain these measures and metrics, and periodically communicate them to the Operations Team and AHS management.

Team with the AHS developers to design and implement a system to detect and report abnormal conditions for their applications, and to collect and report information that is used to return the applications to a normal condition. Document the guidelines for investigating abnormal conditions for each application and for returning the application to a normal condition. These guidelines will be used by the AHS operations team.

Team with the AHS developers to design and implement a system to collect and report trend information for their applications. This information is used to plan the evolution of the application.

Team with the AHS developers to design and implement performance tests and load tests for their applications. Execute these tests and report the results to the developers.

Team with the AHS developers to migrate their applications to the Customer Integrated Environment.

Team with the AHS developers to define and implement a release process for their applications, and execute that process for the Train, Disaster Recovery and Production environments.

Maintain an Operations System road map to plan and communicate the requirements and evolution of the Operations System. Conduct periodic meetings with the Operations Team and AHS management to communicate the evolution of the Operations System.

Perform operational tasks for customer support as assigned by the AHS applications. Such tasks include processing customer documents (Minimum Equipment List, Fault Isolation Manual, etc).

At times, team with an AHS application development team to use a test-driven agile development process to design, document and implement application functionality.

Team with the AHS developers and Quality Assurance analysts to implement and improve a test-driven agile development process.

Team with the AHS product engineers, Quality Assurance analysts and developers to use agile software development methods and tools to improve the quality, cost and delivery of the AHS system and the processes, products and services to support the system.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Do you have a minimum of 3 years of experience providing production and operations support?

Do you have a minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and executing software release processes?

Do you have a minimum of 3 years of experience executing a test-driven agile development process?

Do you have a minimum of 3 years of experience with Unix, Linux, Java, Java ServerPages, Tomcat, Oracle, PERL, VersionOne, HTML, XML and XSLT?

Typical Education/Experience
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Other Job related information
