Description
As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for creating the presentation layer for our online shopping sites as well as defining many aspects related to the user experience of our sites, including user interaction and usability. Working closely with graphic designers, project managers and brand stakeholders, this role is critical to the successful development of our highly branded online shopping sites which include Vince, Rebecca Taylor, David Meister and Zobha.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
Create the presentation layer for online shopping sites using a combination of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a Venda proprietary templating language
Develop front-end features to maintain our position at the forefront of eCommerce development
Convert wireframe & mockups into quality proof-of-concepts
Work closely with designers and Venda software engineers to create usable and accessible user interfaces
Build efficient and reusable HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Identify and address performance issues
Participate in design and code reviews
Interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
Requirements:
Technical Requirements
Expert knowledge of web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS)
Experience with a server-side scripting environment, such as ASP, JSP or PHP, etc.
Extremely detail oriented. Strives for pixel perfect implementation in all browsers
Passion for elegant and intuitive user interfaces
Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code for UI components
Knowledge of but not reliant on Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery, Prototype JS, MooTools, Dojo, etc.)
Experience working with HTML/CSS/JS in high-performance environments
Experience with version control systems (e.g. git, svn)
Experience of working with a templating systems e.g. implementing and customizing a CMS
Ability to write excellent documentation
3+ years of experience building web applications
Experience with Tablet, Mobile, Small form-factor website design
Knowledge of Venda SaaS Template environment is a plus.
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Experience with Agile methodology and working within Agile development teams
Knowing your way around the usual Adobe creative packages
