The Product Line Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Essential Responsibilities: - Identify and establish strategies for success in the marketing and selling of new and unique products and applications (inclucing products and applications in Subsea, Mining, Industrial, Municipal and Geothermal) - Provide input to the Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Support, Training and Finance departments on all needs with the product segment - Manage the Product Life Cycle of the assigned product line(s) from conception to obsolescence, including inventory management, forecasting, to maintain product integrity - Manage effective New Product Introduction activities with internal and external customers including competitor comparisons and product naming / branding to instill a sense of shared success - Drive product cost reduction efforts to improve gross margin and increase sales volume for cost effectiveness - Direct quality improvement projects for each assigned product line - Serve as the product line technical expert within the company and externally as required, including industry associations, customer and with technical publication - Create Business Case Studies to support New Product Development, market segmentation and non-organic growth activities, i.e. company acquisitions - Provide guidance to Marketing regarding all collateral / operations support for the product segment including advertising, brochures, business cases, white papers, trade shows, industry conferences and product costs to enhance organization’s reputation in the marketplace - Provide input to the training department on specific training needs in the areas of field service, applications engineering, sales training, HSE and product assembly / test to provide excellent customer service - Provide market direction based on internal and external research regarding product line market segments - Coordinate and work with customers, engineering, and applications engineering for bid support regarding product line applications - Provide input for the development and incorporation on technical information into sizing software, field service manuals, and training
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college - Minimum of 5 years experience in Product Management, Operations, or Sales Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
