Position's primary responsibilities:
* Support Senior Team Lead Product Development Engineer and Team Lead Product Development Engineer. * Develop 3D wire harness design and electrical component packaging through team of designers. * Be responsible for participating in design reviews, completing action items, and assisting with issues closure. * Develop design from concept to product launch. * Responsibility for assigned area of product (Cab, Chassis, or Powertrain). * Responsible for quality, cost, and deliver objectives for the respective design. * Ensure design release package fully complies with Navistar’s checking process and guideline. * Support vehicle build events at various assemble plants. * This position is not responsible for employee reviews. Position Purpose and Requirements:
Under supervision, provides technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering. May provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members. Refers problems that cannot be resolved to the next level. Serves as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement may last throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 2 years experience in product design/development; OR * Master’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

Desired Skills: * Experience with taking one or more products from concept to launch. * Ability to plan, design, and complete projects. * Knowledge of product development process. * Knowledge of quality tools and their proper use, including dFMEA, Global 8D, APOP, Six Sigma * Experience with manufacturing processes in vehicle assembly plants. * Communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, organized and self disciplined. * Ability to work in a team environment and with customers/suppliers. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Visio. * Thrives in high pressure environment. * Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for build support or design support (domestic and International)
