Process Safety Supervisor
Reporting to the RNO Plant Manager, the Process Safety Supervisor provides Process Safety support for the Redwater Nitrogen Operations. The incumbent will work directly with the Operations, Maintenance & Engineering Departments to ensure safe, efficient and reliable unit performance using the principles of Process Safety Management.
Specific responsibilities will include:
* Establish and maintain RNO Process Safety Stewardship program
* Support maintenance of RNO Process Safety Information (PSI)
* Support the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) system and facilitate MOC or Project PHA's as required
* Maintains site PHA schedule and responsible for scheduling PHA activities ensuring schedule is met
* Ensures compliance to PHA Issue Resolution Schedule
* Working with the Contact Engineers, maintain and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Conditions and Limits (SOCL)
* Ensure the Management of Change (MOC) procedure, including completion of Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR), is followed.
* Drive RNO compliance to Agrium’s Process Safety Roadmap
* Be an active member on the Process Safety Council
* Site resource and focus for process safety education and knowledge development
* Roll-out and train site personnel on new developments and changes to process safety program
* Ensure Process Safety Events (PSE) are properly captured in Incidenter including Event Investigations and metrics are reported correctly with Agrium Wholesale Technical Services (WTS)
* Participate and leads process safety incident investigations and assist with follow up action items
* Analyzes PSE trends and metrics to identify problems and opportunities in the operating units with the goal of improved process safety performance
* Completion of PSM Compliance Assurance Audits, and managing the completion of the findings.
* Administer the MOC process including reporting and identifying areas for improvement
* Supervise 1 Agrium Process Safety Engineer and other contract resources as necessary to meet RNO Process Safety goals & objectives.
Qualifications of the Position Include:
* Chemical engineering degree or other engineering discipline with 8-10 years of experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills.
* Previous Supervisory or Program Management experience is recommended
* Experience working with Dyadem PHAPro is recommended
* Experience working with MS Office and SAP is recommended.
