Reporting Relationship: Reports Process Control Manager Location: Mentor, OH Principal Area of Responsibility: The Process/Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for engineering support to his/her designated department, utilizing the specific duties listed below. Specific Duties: * Implement process controls (FMEA, control plans and six sigma). * Analyze and isolate root causes of process issues within department and develop and implement permanent solutions. Implement new technology and equipment for process control and cost reduction. * Analyze existing process control systems, determine their effectiveness, and drive to improve systems, leading to measurable reduction in scrap and variable cost (labor, materials). * Assist operators and process engineers with the troubleshooting and resolution of specific problems through the development of cost effective methods and equipment. * Act as a team player who will move between team contributor and team leader roles as needed. * Keep abreast of technological trends; investigate, justify and install most effective methods to maintain competitive edge. * Accept special projects as assigned. Required Skills
Education: B.S. degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, industrial engineering or related discipline preferred. Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Work Experience: Prior engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, 5-7 years experience preferred. Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods required, with proven implementation of lean initiatives. Formal problem-solving training such as six-sigma methodologies preferred. Proven project management skills. Experience with investment casting, specifically with land based turbine product, is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
