Must have experience with:
. Business development, client management and staff management; . Bench-scale and pilot testing studies and laboratory practices . Industrial wastewater treatment technologies . Process trouble-shooting of industrial wastewater treatment plant unit operations and plant startup operations . Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation . Valid driver's license required.
Job Description: The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Industrial Wastewater Engineer for immediate employment in the Raleigh, NC (Morrisville) office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in wastewater treatment. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including selection of treatment technologies and the design and troubleshooting of industrial wastewater treatment systems.
Incumbent Responsibilities: . Determines sources and methods of controlling pollutants in water, stormwater, and groundwater, utilizing knowledge of industry, chemistry, meteorology, and engineering principles and applied technologies. . Designs and supervises the development of systems processes or equipment for control, management, or remediation of water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater quality such as zero liquid discharge systems, chemical/physical treatment systems, mechanical equipment, and other test instrumentation. . Develop and provide process design basis, PFDs and P&IDs, process descriptions, mass and energy balances, process data sheets, preliminary/final engineering designs, and recommendations for wastewater treatment plant/process upgrades . Develop preliminary designs for budgetary and firm proposals for integrated wastewater plants . Inspects industrial facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. . Obtains and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures. . Collaborates with environmental scientists, engineers, planners, hazardous waste technicians, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems. . Familiar with regulations governing the implementation and operations of related systems. . Provide technical support to business development for integrated wastewater treatment processes and treatment plants. Other duties as assigned.
