Work on a team of engineers responsible for developing and improving storage management software. Working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, provides technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Candidate must have strong communications and the ability to work on a large project team. Provide work leadership to others. Interface with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction. Assignments may include new products as well as enhancements to existing products in addition to performing software integration, debugging and resolving problems detected by Quality Assurance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Writes functional and detailed design specifications as well as responding to requirement documents and system level test plans.
* Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction.
* Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and products.
* Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, and voluntarily shares information.
* May be accountable for overall product and/or serve as a customer advocate, may represent organization as principal customer contact.
* Significant contributor to organizational goals and objectives.
* Interacts cross functionally on matter that requires coordination across organization lines.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* BS or MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
* Minimum 5 years overall work experience as a software engineer.
* Minimum 3 years GUI Software development.
* Strong object oriented design skills.
* Experience with Java, XML/HTML,Flex3, Flex4, REST, JSON, JavaScript, and CSS
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
* Proven track record with designing large systems.
* Proven track record of delivering large amounts of high quality, complex code.
* Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Experience with DTMF CIM, SNIA SMI-S also highly desirable
* Experience on Linux.
* Working knowledge of standard IP networking protocols and services (HTTP, TCP/IP and FTP).
* Relevant experience in storage array management software is a plus.
