Business BRS Location(s) US - California - Irvine Title Principal Software Engineer-NAS Devices Requisition ID 80227BR Job Description EMC’s Backup and Recovery Systems (BRS) division takes advantage of patented data de-duplication and “incremental forever” technologies to build enterprise products that make disaster recovery simple and cost effective. These industry-leading technologies identify redundant information at the source thereby providing for faster automated backups, significantly reduced network traffic, flexible deployments, and straight forward restores. The BRS Client Team builds the software systems that identify redundant data, enabling the secure transfer of client data to the storage server, for EMC’s Avamar product line. With Avamar supporting an ever expanding number of enterprise applications, operating systems, and platforms this team is constantly challenged to come up with new and innovative solutions to ensure EMC remains the leader in the enterprise disaster recovery space. We are looking for a principal engineer who is bright and self-directed to join this fast-paced and dynamic team. The following skills are what will make you a great fit for this group.
-Expert level coding skills in C++ under Linux/Unix -Experience working with NAS devices (Celerra, Isilon, NetApp, etc.) -Experience developing enterprise, commercial products that target a mix of platforms -Experience developing multi-threaded, distributed systems -Knowledge of, or experience with, storage architectures and file systems a plus
