Unified Storage Division
Within EMC, the Unified Storage Division (USD) is one of EMC’s fastest growing Business Units. It’s new, award-winning entry (VNXe) and midrange (VNX) storage solutions have taken the market by storm, garnering over 20 industry awards and have bolstered EMC’s #1 position in mid-tier storage according to IDC. They offer record-breaking simplicity, efficiency and performance for virtualized application environments including those from Microsoft, Oracle, VMWare, and Citrix.
Working with minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, provides technical solutions and recovery procedures for engineering related customer issues. Provides solutions as well as root cause analysis data that supports his/her decisions about the particular issue and the recommended solution. May be required to interface directly with customers to help explain more complex engineering issues to the satisfaction of the customer and/or local account teams. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Resolves customer incidents quickly and completely with minimum assistance from development engineering • Interfaces with other internal engineering organizations as well as field and account teams. • May be called upon to interact with customer directly to help explain more complex engineering issues to their satisfaction. • Writes functional detailed design specs as well as responding to requirement documents and system level test plans. • Significant contributor to organizational goals and objectives. • Interacts cross functionally on matter that require coordination across organization lines. • May be accountable for overall product and/or serve as a customer advocate, may represent organization as principal customer contact. • Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information. • Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment. • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction.

Education Required: Masters (Technical) Experience Required: 7+ years relevant experience
