Position: Software Engineer
The NetWitness division of EMC is based in Reston, VA., for the right individual this position could work remotely or onsite.
We are seeking candidates for software prototyping and systems analysis. The ideal candidate will have majored in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering, with a BS degree.
Successful candidates will develop algorithms and prototypes to solve the following problems:
* Near real time data extraction from several types of TCP/IP based network application protocols, using C++ and STL in Windows and/or Linux environments. Experience with binary and ASCII parsing experience is a plus. Additionally, any proven experience in porting from Linux based 32-bit to 64-bit architecture and engineering Linux internals to optimize resource utilization in line speed/high data volume environments is highly desired.
* Knowledge on how to write efficient C++ code is mandatory. Experience with code profiler and memory leak detector tools is highly desired.
* Candidate must be skilled in C++ code refactoring and code reuse.
Requirements/Experience:
* Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
* Experience in design, development, and testing high speed, high performance software applications.
* Clearly demonstrated experience in C++ and STL is required.
* Experience in any of the following is desired; network protocol analysis, TCP/IP communications, and information security concepts.
* Must be very detail oriented, thorough in understanding requirements, and able to thrive in a team environment where there is a dependency on others to complete projects.
* Must be a self-starter; a highly motivated individual. Must be a team player who can adapt to changes in requirements.
* Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Extremely strong written and verbal (English) communications skills required.
