Principal Scientist - Process Development
The candidate will be responsible for the successful completion of major programs in the area of mammalian cell culture/microbial fermentation process development. • Oversight of programs in the area of mammalian cell culture/microbial fermentation process characterization and commercial process support • Establishing project goals, integrating activities with other functions/departments, planning and coordinating project workflows (i.e. projecting timelines, milestones, methodologies, expected results and necessary resources) • Providing critical evaluation of scientific data, mentoring scientific staff and collaborating with other scientists. • Ensuring accountability for progress and ensuring documentation and communication of project results through technical reports and presentations to diverse audiences including senior management. • The candidate will work in a dynamic team environment to characterize and support recombinant cell culture/microbial fermentation processes that will be implemented in large-scale cGMP manufacturing facilities.
Basic Qualifications • Doctorate degree & 2 years of directly related experience OR • Master's degree & 6 years of directly related experience OR • Bachelor's degree & 8 years of directly related experience OR • Associate's degree & 10 years of directly related experience OR • High school diploma / GED & 12 years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have Ph.D. in the Life Sciences or Engineering and 8+ years of experience with cell culture/fermentation, preferably in a process development environment with exposure to cGMP manufacturing and regulatory submissions • Experience as a functional area or team lead in a multidisciplinary team environment. • Track record of independently anticipating complex technical problems and developing practical and innovative solutions. • Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and/or supervise the activities of others. • Excellent oral communication and writing skills, and the ability to work effectively with teams in various geographic locations
