Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer

Team/Department: Payload Systems Management - Lead a team of engineers to architect, specify and deliver communications payloads compatible with the host spacecraft within available financial and schedule resources. Establish contractual compliance through on-ground and in-orbit spacecraft testing.
Role/Job Responsibilities:
.Work with the Systems Engineering Manager and Program Manager to ensure delivery of a compliant satellite within indentified constraints
.Define and develop systems requirements, specifications and architecture
.Provides technical consultation in multi-specialty areas of systems engineering
.Performs requirements and performance analysis and trade studies
.Responsible for major technical proposal efforts
.Provides technical interface with customers, external agencies and other contractors
.Performs advanced research, design and development in the majority of specialties within systems engineering
.Monitors system development and mission analysis and provides original solutions to complex technical problems
.May be responsible for the development and definition of a system test program on a complex system
.Identify risks and define plans to retire each risk
.Perform or delegate/monitor/and evaluate the following tasks:
