Position Description
Mechanical and Graphic Designer will be responsible for supporting a project team with CAD model or drawing creation. The designer will also provide graphic design of labels including the creation of artwork. In addition the designer will be responsible for creating technical illustrations for manuals.
Position Responsibilities
Mechanical: Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment such as CAD Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, ID, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Work to Engineering drafting standards Intimate understanding of Engineering change process and configuration management
Graphic Design: Work with the project engineer or manager to determine project requirements and to resolve the contents related issues. Work with tech pub in defining the translation needs, providing translation specification and reviewing the translation text. Generate artwork following the established design format and branding guidelines. Work with other functions in the project team in making sure that there is consistency with other labeling material and the project requirements are met. Conduct the design reviews, track the action items and file the final design review report. Spec gathering, mostly work with project managers, system engineer and agency. Support Technical Publications with technical illustrations
Basic Qualifications
Experience equivalent to an associate degree in drafting plus six years in a mechanical design capacity. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and other related software. 5 years Graphic Design experience Experience with Engineering drawing change systems Experience creating models and drawings in CAD, Pro engineer preferred Ability to schedule and organize multiple projects. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing artwork and graphics for FDA regulated medical products desired. Experience in the medical device or other regulated industry.
